Ride the GRAVEL DRAGON at Overland Expo East

REV’IT! & RawHyde Adventures will team up at the inaugural Overland Expo East to offer adventure riders a rare chance to ride the illusive “Gravel Dragon”, the off-road trek that snakes through the scenic, forested vistas of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park outside of Asheville, North Carolina. The trail’s endless twists and turns mimic its namesake, the world-renowned Tail of the Dragon – but in the most rugged, thrilling way possible.

The ride will leave at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 3rd from the RawHyde tent in the Overland Expo motorcycle pavilion. It will be led by RawHyde guides over paved and unpaved roads, and a light lunch will be served mid-route; riders must have their own bikes and proper protective gear. The ride is estimated to return around 6:00 PM.

REV’IT! and RawHyde have partnered to offer the ride free-of-charge, but space is limited: To sign up, send an email to rsvp@revitusa.com.

Embrace the adventure, and take the twisties on your own terms!

REV’IT! at the 2014 Overland Expo West

Overland Expo is an international event that educates and inspires people to get out and explore the world, by bike and vehicle, with 140+ different classes, 180+ exhibitors, and experts, authors, & videographers from around the world.

REV’IT! traveled to Flagstaff, Arizona over the weekend to rub shoulders with a rugged community of global adventurers and explorers at Overland Expo West. The dusty event, held on the dried bed of Mormon Lake, drew a crowd of roughly 7,000 from around the world. They came by motorcycle, jeep, buggy, RV, bicycle, truck, trailer and even horse — whatever means got them “over land”

The REV’IT! tent featured the company’s most popular adventure products, among them the Sand 2, Sand Ladies and Poseidon suits. Hundreds of expo attendees mapped out their “dream rides” on postcards, as part of a contest to win REV’IT! gear. And heat-adverse riders took liquid cooling vests out for trial runs on the Arizona backroads — an appropriate climate for serious testing.

The Sand Pro Gloves were crowd favorites; expo-goers loved the ventilated flex-knuckle and its distinct hexagonal pattern.

There were obstacle courses, sand pits, dirt tracks, ropes courses and other feats of daring for the show’s thrill-seekers, and hundreds of attendees camped out on the expansive plain in some of the world’s most cleverly crafted tents, shelters and mega-RVs. REV’IT! was pleased to meet and interact with this dedicated community of adventure riders; we look forward to the event again in 2015!

REV’IT! signs with James Rispoli for 2014

REV’IT! is proud to announce the sponsorship signing of pro road racer James “the Rocket” Rispoli. James, an American two time AMA Pro Racing SuperSport Champion, runner-up AMA Pro Singles Dirt Track racer and multi-record holding Bonneville land-speed racer will be making his debut in the Motorpoint British SuperSport Championship with Team Traction Control owned by Keith Flint (front man of the band The Prodigy).

Rispoli is no stranger to the British Superbike Series having had two end-of-season wild card rides in as many seasons. According to James, “my move to race full time overseas is a big change and step forward for me. The people, country, tracks and rules are all different. It’s a new start and I am looking to take my career to the next level. In doing so I wanted to surround myself with multi-national partners that were like minded, and could match my enthusiasm, passion for sports and dedication. I found that enthusiasm in my discussions with REV’IT! Managing Director Ivan Vos and I’m super excited to start a new journey with REV’IT! and do my part to help continue to build on the great reputation they have in the industry.”

Ivan Vos commented, “It’s great to have James on board with REV’IT!. He is an accomplished young rider with a lot of potential, enthusiasm and an exciting style of riding. His personality fits the REV’IT! brand very well which we consider specifically important. We look forward to his positive results and lasting relationship.”

Rispoli has been training in the off season at his home in Daytona Beach Florida gearing up for his first series of tests with his new team mid February in Spain.

SNA founder Mark tests the Poseidon GTX oufit.

SierraNevadaAdventures (SNA) offers guided motorcycle tours throughout the historic California Gold Country to remote wagon routes and passes over the Sierra Nevada High Country to the Eastern Sierra.

Mark -the founder of SNA- has guided hundreds of dual sport riders on thousands of miles of dual sport adventure rides throughout the Sierra Nevada, Death Valley or Lost Coast. His passion for dual sport adventure has reached faraway remote places in all the western states including spectacular national parks. He pretty much lives on a bike and REV’IT! gear is almost like a second home to him.

For years Mark has been a great REV’IT! ambassador; due to the countless hours spend on his bike in extreme situations he is able to provide us with valuable feedback and useful insights. The last few months Mark has been riding in our Poseidon GTX jacket and trousers. Because it makes us proud, we would like to share his thoughts on our newest adventure jacket and pants with you.

When it comes to “extreme adventure” there’s no compromise on durability, protective armor, warmth and waterproof protection. I’m happy to report, the new REV’IT! Poseidon jacket and pants are the definition of “extreme adventure” touring gear. The Poseidon GORE-TEX® jacket and pants provide the highest quality, go-anywhere, waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex shell in a highly protective multi-season motorcycle adventure apparel.

REV’IT! signed with PJ Jacobsen for another season

We are delighted to announce that REV’IT! signed with 2013 BSB rider PJ Jacobsen for another season. In 2014 PJ Jacobsen will be racing in the Intermoto Ponyexpres Kawasaki team in the World Super Sport class.

A fresh season with a new team and a different class means that a new suit is needed. Last week PJ visited our office in New York, to evaluate last year and to talk about the possibilities and opportunities for the future. We measured him in order to make a perfect fitting suit and color schemes, materials and features were discussed. The result can be admired for the first time during a test PJ has in Jerez, Spain at the end of January.
